Design and maintain scalable Node.js APIs handling production traffic, refactor critical backend modules for reliability, optimize database queries for performance, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver end-to-end backend solutions.

Joined the HNG Internship program, hosted by Hotels.ng, with no backend experience, learning HTTP fundamentals in the first weeks. When our team's original architecture started failing with elimination looming, redesigned the backend from scratch and stepped up to lead it, drawing more on a background in problem-solving and DSA than on any prior backend work. Went on to lead the backend intern team in designing and deploying an image categorization service with integrated AI-powered object detection, and helped raise code quality across the team through structured code reviews. The team placed as finalists.
